Sound system setup?

I have been asked to buy and install a sound system (and lighting) for my nightclub opening guys in a few months. I am a DJ and have not created anything larger than a pair of powered speakers in my house DJ set. I need some advice on what speakers and woofers sub shop, the club's capacity is 400 people, but would be severely overcrowded that many – I think you will need about 8-10 speakers mounted on the wall and 1-2 sub woofers. I also know that if the speakers / woofers are liabilities that will require some amps? and a mixer for the job. Any advice here would be great guys – I'm not sure weather that should get active or passive equipment to be connected to amps? Power is also something that has no idea – do have an electrician on hand however. In what order are they in the system – Speakers – Amplifiers – Mixer – DJ Mixer? Thanks in advance.

Puerto TV – As someone else said, you may want to consider hiring a company that installs systems to DJ. Would be in the phone book under "Sound Systems." If you insist on doing it yourself, you can do, but just realize this is no small project. You did not mention a budget. I'll assume that you have enough to buy a decent system. You do not need a mixer if you only have to be a dance club. Almost any good DJ mixer with XLR outputs will have no problem. Each amplifier will turn off 2400 watts on each sub. The two main amplifiers should be on a 20 amp circuit separately. Each sub amplifier must be in its own 20 amp circuit. Use a good 12 gauge wire thick wire for the amps to speakers – Home Depot and Lowes usually install lead-grade speaker wire. If you need help engage with all that, let me know.
