Beginner DJ help teams!?

Ok, so I was in Best Buy last weekend and fooled around with the Numark iDJ2 a little and she loved it! I never I've done any DJing in my life but now I'm really interested in doing some as in my concert hall and perhaps potentially! I have read some comments on Numark iDJ2 and the people really hit and I'm not sure I want to lose money on computers that do not work. One of the main things that attracted me to the iDJ2 iPod was that it was totally compatible and easy to find and assign songs to different parts of the mixer. I was curious what would be a good setup, very simple for a beginner DJ and had the capabilities of the iPod along with the ability to be reliable without being insanely expensive (over $ 500-600). I would buy Woods TaylorMade, Ping irons and wedges and a putter No Compromise. That would be a little over $ 600, but have a good package.
