CB Microphone wired to Phono Plug?

100b I have an old Shure mic series you want to use for recording and am having problems. There are four cables, 2 of them are for the PT and is not required for use, so I have 2 cables, heat 1 and 1 ground I assume. I have to plug RCA cable, but does not work unless I actually touch the microphone element. like I used as a reason. I am testing the box, which is metal.
