I know it's late … but I buy an Xbox 360?

So I got some birthday money and I buy it or maybe a stereo (Keyboard, or the turntable dj) or I could buy an Xbox 360 … I do not want to buy it and in a year or 8 for the generation of consoles to come around, so my question is should I buy one? Will it last? Or is it near the end of the 360 living in this generation of consoles to go.

If you must buy one, is an amazing system and it will be worth every dollar. In addition to the first 8 of the gens is going to be 2012 so you still have plenty of time to play.
