Books about Mormons for and against

Mormon books come in two main categories: those who favor the Mormon church and those who oppose Church, although there are varying degrees in both categories.

If you are making an honest investigation into the Mormon Church or just want to know what really teaches first decide whether the source is reliable. Check to see who wrote the book LDS, why they wrote, and published it.

I could not read a book about how to care for roses written by someone who has never grown a rose but only seen, however you want to read a book written by a rose gardener. The same is true for Mormonism. To get a real idea of what the LDS Church is as it really should read books written by Mormon, Mormons, not just someone who Mormons have seen and researched and in so doing, think they know about the Church.

Mormon books for the Church

There are a variety of books SUD written by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of these books are fiction and nonfiction. LDS publishers including Deseret Book, Covenant Communications, Granite Publishing, and some other smaller companies.

There are a number of books on the Mormon faith and other religious teachings by general authorities, the prophets and other religious leaders of the Church.

There have been numerous books on the history of the Mormon Church and the leaders religious ranging from Joseph Smith, Mormon pioneers, Mormon polygamy and the Mormons in the Second World War and Gordon B. Hinckley and everything in between.

Also there is a large LDS fiction market, with many writers to write novels whose characters are LDS. While not delve much into Mormon beliefs or the history that provide a window the Mormon church with people who are trying to live the Mormon faith. They are also ideal for those who believe that a book can be romantic or adventurous without being obscene.

"The Mormon Church: A History of basic story is written in a concise and explains the facts, conflicts, and personalities involved in the history of the Church.

"Heroic Mormon Women" tells the story of Mormon women a variety of little Emma Smith the Mormon church are unreliable, often mixed with opinions and sensationalism. Often older books anti-Mormons tend to be sensational and further away from current practices and Mormon beliefs. Also written books by ex-Mormons do for obvious reasons portray the Mormon Church in a negative light.

When reading the books SUD realized that if the purpose of the book was written to convince to Mormons that their religion is false, it will contain the bias of the author who wrote it. Therefore, it is probably less accurate picture of what Mormons actually believe.

Many books claim to show SUD impartial objectivity. But this is especially difficult when it comes to religion. A person either believes something is true or not. If the writer does not believe in Mormonism then transferred to the book by the tone and content that the author chooses to use.

Books is a publishing company that tries to adhere standards of honesty and objectivity, but not a publisher of Mormon, therefore, all works should be read objectively.

"Mormon America: The Power and the Promise "is a book on Mormonism written by a Protestant couple. The book attempts to provide a balanced, objective and comprehensive information on Mormonism. However, leaves out many elements that Mormons consider relevant to their faith and does not recognize that the Mormon church is a worldwide organization.

"Manufacturers of God" that made headlines when it was first released is all about sensationalism and was written by disillusioned ex-Mormons trying to get revenge. It is by no means an accurate portrayal of Mormon Church.
