How I can fix a portable CD player will not read a CD even when the CD is not scratched or anything?

button which is supposed that to close, she stopped and I think that that will not work. But I'm not so sure, though.When i push play, its reading the disc, but after a few seconds that says "record." So I really do not know why no further job and I putt on batteries brand new and still says disk.

The laser that reads the disc is proabably a burning or burnt out. This is something that can be repaired, but in most cases it's just cheaper to go buy a new one who are as little as $ 30, as in Wal Mart or somewhere like that.
